1. What FundBuddy is
FundBuddy is a mobile app made by fabricat3d (ABN 19 502 462 976) ("FundBuddy", "we", "us") that helps NDIS participants and their families track their plan budget. You enter your plan's budget and your spending; the app shows you a live balance, a "safe to spend" figure, and an estimate of where your budget is heading. The app is described in more detail at fundbuddy.com.au.
2. What FundBuddy is not
FundBuddy is a budget tracking tool. It is not financial advice, legal advice, or NDIS advice, and it isn't a substitute for talking to your plan manager, support coordinator, local area coordinator, or the NDIA.
- Forecasts are estimates. The "safe to spend" number and any projection is calculated from the figures you've entered and simple assumptions about future spending. Real life can differ.
- The NDIA's records are the official ones. Your NDIS plan, the myplace/PACE portal, and statements from your plan manager remain the authoritative source for what has been funded, claimed, and what's left. If FundBuddy and the NDIA disagree, the NDIA is right.
- Support codes are suggestions. Any NDIS support item code the app suggests is a starting point for you to check, not a ruling on what a plan will fund.
- We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or the NDIS.
3. Who can use it
FundBuddy is designed for people in Australia who are NDIS participants, or who manage an NDIS plan for someone else (for example a parent, guardian or plan nominee). You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision if you're younger. By using FundBuddy you confirm that's the case.
4. Your account
- You need an account to use FundBuddy. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping the information you enter accurate.
- On a family subscription you can add up to four participants. If you enter details about another person, you confirm you're allowed to (for example, as their parent, guardian or nominee).
- You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings. See our privacy policy for what happens to your data.
5. Subscriptions
- Some features require a paid subscription. Current prices, plans and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Payment is taken by Apple or Google — we never see your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- You manage or cancel your subscription in your device's store settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Nothing in these terms takes away any refund rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
- If we change prices, the new price applies from your next renewal and we'll tell you first.
6. Acceptable use
Please use FundBuddy for what it's for — tracking a budget you're entitled to manage. Don't:
- enter information about another person without the right to do so;
- use the app for anything unlawful, including to mislead the NDIA, a plan manager or a provider;
- try to break into, overload, reverse-engineer, or copy the app or our systems;
- upload anything harmful (malware, abusive content, other people's private information);
- resell access to the app or use it to build a competing service.
7. Your content and data
- You own your data. The budgets, records, participant details and receipt photos you put into FundBuddy are yours.
- You give us a limited licence to store, process, back up and display that data solely to run the service for you. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't use it to train AI models.
- The licence ends when you delete the data or your account, except for encrypted backups that are purged within 30 days.
- FundBuddy itself — the app, its design, the buddy character and the wordmark — belongs to us. You may use the app, but not copy its parts for other purposes.
8. AI receipt reading
When you tap "Read receipt", the app sends that photo to our AI provider (Anthropic) to extract the total, date, merchant and a suggested support code. The results are suggestions only and can be wrong. You're responsible for checking them before saving. You can always use the app without this feature by entering details yourself. Our privacy policy explains where the photo goes and what happens to it.
9. Disclaimers
We work hard to make FundBuddy accurate and reliable, but it depends on the numbers you enter and on third-party services (app stores, hosting, AI). So, to the extent the law allows:
- the app is provided "as is" and "as available";
- we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its calculations or suggestions will always be correct;
- we don't guarantee any particular outcome with the NDIA, a plan manager or a provider.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under that law or any other law that can't be excluded. Where we're allowed to limit our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee, it's limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
10. Our liability
To the extent permitted by law, and subject to section 9:
- we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of funding, data, income or opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) FundBuddy;
- our total liability to you for any claim connected with FundBuddy is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and AUD $100;
- you're responsible for decisions you make based on the app's figures — please check important decisions against your NDIA records or with your plan manager.
11. Ending things
- You can stop using FundBuddy and delete your account at any time.
- We can suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if we have to for legal or security reasons. Where we reasonably can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.
- If we ever have to shut FundBuddy down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data.
- Sections 2, 7, 9, 10 and 13 keep applying after an account is closed.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as FundBuddy grows. Minor changes take effect when we post them here with a new effective date. For anything significant we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it applies. If you keep using FundBuddy after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of that state and the Commonwealth of Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Before either of us goes to court, we agree to try to sort things out by talking first — email us and we'll do our best.
